What to do at Somersby Falls

As you pull into Somersby Falls, your eyes will immediately be drawn to the perfect picnic spot situated right beside the car park. It’s the perfect place to set up camp before walking. With a barbecue, picnic tables, and clean toilets, all your basic needs are covered. But the real highlight is the lush vegetation surrounding you – it’s truly a feast for the senses. Be sure to come prepared with all the essentials – food and water, a ball, and a picnic rug and chairs. A day at Somersby Falls promises to be a special one, and it all begins in this perfect oasis.

If you’re up for a bit of a challenge, the medium-graded bushwalk to the waterfalls may be just the thing for you. While there are stairs down, some parts of them can be slippery, so be sure to watch your step. However, the reward at the end is well worth it. Along the way, you’ll come across a mini waterfall that’s usually without crowds. Here, you can take a break and let the kids explore the rocks and puddles. When you’re ready to continue, follow the track until you reach the top waterfall. This is located halfway to the start and is the biggest and prettiest of the two waterfalls. So, if you don’t want to continue descending the steps, you can stop here and take in the stunning views.
